allronix@mindspring.com BioI know that no matter what it takes, I will survive and do very well at it. Thing is, I'm looking to do a bit better than survival.
I have done call center work for 9 years and for four different cellular carriers. But, call center work has little (if any) room for advancement, skill improvement, or even work/life balance. I wanted out, and I've got my wish...even if it's not in the way I wanted it to pan out.
My politics are slightly to the left of Michael Moore. Mom blames Evergreen, but I was already reading Marx (and Ayn Rand, just to see the counter-argument) in high school and haven't been able to recite the Pledge of Allegiance since the Rodney King riots. Going into the working world and paying taxes didn't do anything to "mellow me out." If anything, I got a lot worse. I'm an out and proud eclectic Pagan on top of that.
I adore video games and sci-fi, part because I'm fascinated with how someone can make such a compelling world within the constraints of genre and format. I love modding games, since it gives me the opportunity to "look under the hood" and find out how they're made. Even though I write fan fiction and can boast over 50 stories in almost a dozen fandoms and several awards, my reading preference is mostly for non-fiction.
This journal is mostly for venting and trivia. I post a lot about politics and current events, fandom, my job, my two beautiful kitties, and the occasional recipe for a tasty meal.
